Jimmy was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, where he attended San Sebastian College earning a degree in Business Administration. He is a past member of the Bloomington/Normal Jaycees and served a term as membership vice president. Jimmy is currently a member of the board for OCA-Central Illinois Chapter. This organization promotes and embraces the hopes and aspirations of Asian Pacific Americans.

 Jimmy lives in Bloomington with his wife Kelly, daughter Jaiden Alexis, and son Kalen Drew. Kelly and Jimmy own and operate KM Hair Salon where Kelly specializes in cosmetology. Kelly and Jimmy also own Jaiden Communications, an Authorized NEXTEL Representative.
